Our rotor wing service area covers approximately 50,000 square miles of California and Nevada, and 11 states across the western United States with our new fixed-wing program. Between our five bases and fleet of four helicopters and one airplane, we can respond to most areas of the region in under one hour and navigate rural, suburban and complex alpine terrain, regardless of weather conditions.

Care Flight flies in the high desert and the alpine environment and operates in high altitudes and across extreme temperature spans. That’s why safety is always the top priority for every flight, for every patient. These complex surroundings require precise flying and strict maintenance standards to ensure the helicopters and airplanes are always ready to perform at their peak.
Care Flight operates five bases throughout northern Nevada and northeastern California. From the base in central Reno at Renown Regional Medical Center to Truckee to Beckwourth, Care Flight’s service area covers approximately 50,000 square miles of rural and suburban complex alpine terrain.
Care Flight’s fixed-wing program provides 24/7 access to critical care transportation in time-sensitive situations, regardless of distance or weather, and of injury or illness. The plane is ideally-suited for high-altitude, alpine flights and has a high-lift wing for exceptional short-field takeoff and landing performance - ideal for smaller airports. The cabin is configured to accommodate a patient, the two-person medical crew and a pilot.
